For the last five years Sheina and Brian, a couple with three sons, have been working extremely hard to manage the care of their two sets of elderly parents. During this time, Sheina has also suffered from breast cancer.

Sheina and Brian both regularly take time off work to visit their parents and attend meetings with care professionals to negotiate the best possible care. They undertake their own research, mainly online, but struggle to find and make sense of the information they need to act and make the best decisions.

Sheina's breast cancer came as a major blow. Sheina feels she had excellent medical treatment, with her cancer now in remission, yet the care available neglected her emotional needs and those of her family.
